The iCargo Reference Value Chain applied to the Green Corridor and LSP-Shipper Cooperation Business Cases
The iCargo Integrated Project aims at advancing and extending the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to decarbonise comodal logistics by enhancing intermodal transport reliability and accuracy through real-time information acquisition and stakeholder cooperation and by, at the same time, optimising environmental performance and assessing the effects of low-CO2 transport choices for transport services providers and their customers. The present paper focuses on the methodology applied to perform the analysis of business cases of the iCargo project. This approach is built on the definition of the iCargo Reference Value Chain that is based on the definition of new processes and ICT architecture in the iCargo ecosystem and the documentation of real needs of the involved stakeholders of the business cases, their roles and contributions to each other’s value-creation activities. This work presents the first results obtained by applying the methodology to two business cases of the project.
