A circuit is discussed which is used for converting the 50-Hz power from the contact line into 16 2/3-Hz power used for traction. The control of the reactive power of the 50-hz motor, of motor speed, of motor voltage, of rotor current, and of the voltage and reactive power of the 16 2/3-Hz generator is discussed.
