Airline costs: determinants and models

Custos no transporte aéreo: determinantes e modelos

This study performs an overview of typical concepts and classifications of costs in air transportation, focusing on the descriptive analysis addressed by the book of Holloway (2003). The author also discusses the influencing factors on costs stemming from design and operation of an air transportation system, management and cost reduction issues, and the Low-Fare/Low-Cost business model. Additionally, the author presents an analysis of typical air transportation cost functions, performing reviews of related studies.
