Impacts of flight delays on airline pricing: evidence from the US market
Impactos de atrasos nos preços de companhias aéreas: evidência norte-americana
Can air traffic delays affect airline prices? This is the research question asked by researcher Silke Forbes in her paper called “The Effect of Air Traffic Delays on Airline Prices” and published in the International Journal of Industrial Organization in 2008. The author concludes that, in the United States, prices fall on average $1.42 for each additional minute of flight delay. This work is a review of the important research carried out by the author.
