ecoDriving Support Based on Cooperative Prediction Models
This paper describes a part of a cooperative system developed in the eCoMove project that reduces fuel consumption by improving individual driving strategies. Using an in-vehicle microscopic traffic simulation to analyse the traffic situation, vehicle state and driver behaviour the system is able to predict the velocity for a certain time horizon. Based on this information dedicated recommendations on how to drive energy efficiently in each situation is provided to the driver. The application is capable to consider information provided from traffic management and infrastructure units as well as from other vehicles in the vicinity.
