Virtual ITS-Evaluation–Establishment of Micro-Simulation for the City Centre of Zurich
Due to the fact that the evaluation of measures for traffic systems in urban areas becomes a more and more complex issue, a micro-simulation model for the city center of Zurich was established. This was done on the basis of the transport model of the Canton of Zurich, integrating the in-house designed traffic control programs and using floating car data for the model calibration. As first appliances show, the tool developed in this manner allows fast and easy evaluation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
