iRoute – The way to a Bavarian Wide System for Incident Detection and Journey Time Measurement
The Federal State of Bavaria proposes a further improving of the traffic information and traffic control as well as an increasing safety on motorways. Therefore a Bavarian wide system for incident detection and journey time measurement is to be developed and implemented. The aim is gaining detailed knowledge about real-time and forecasted traffic on all key sections of the motorway network in order to support providing the best possible service level of traffic information to road users and optimize the use of the variable message sign systems.
