The MOVE Project: Smartphones for Smart Travel-behaviour Data Analyses
The MOVE application focuses on the tracking and tracing of crowd and travel behaviour data by using a combination of the available sensors (GPS, Wi-Fi, cell, Bluetooth) in Smartphones. A novelty in tracing is that the application can be used as a passive logging tool or as an interactive platform in collecting additional information by a mobile survey-method. Recent tests indicated that the developed technology is very promising on collecting multi-modal travel data, wherein other technologies failed and in the automatic analyses of which transport mode is used. The technology is now used in two living labs in Flanders on electric vehicles and in one European project. Move will provide the logging, basic analyses and the management dashboard for further analyses of the results on travel behaviour.
