Defending the Enforcement Officer
In this article, the author describes the many challenges faced by parking enforcement officers on a daily basis as individuals attempt to avoid parking violation citations. The article discusses organizational strategies, including hiring and employee training practices, that can minimize workplace conflict. Also highlighted are the importance of conflict resolution training programs, key competencies needed by enforcement officers, and the active role managers should play in training and continued on-the-job coaching.
