Managing risk in road organization
This a guide that aims at presenting principles and techniques of risk management (RM) for road organizations. It is illustrated with case studies of implementation. Chapter 2 presents risk analysis techniques, which include the following: Risk Analysis by Scenario, Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP). Chapter 2 is focused on risk management for road networks, including engineering structures as well as natural and anthropogenic risks. Chapter 5 deals with risk management for infrastructural construction projects, asserting that risk evaluation must be carried out at each stage of the project. Finally, chapter 6 reviews crisis management. The appendices include detailed descriptions of examples and case studies for the various areas of risk management practices.
