Tackling a skills shortage
A shortage of new talent is threatening to undermine technical progress at a critical time for the railway industry as many of its leaders approach retirement. Various initiatives are underway to combat this problem, such as education, training and recruitment, and fundraising, and they are presented in this article, which reports from the International Union of Railways' (UIC) 2nd World Congress on Rail Training.
