Synchro and SimTraffic Roundabout Demo
With the popularity of roundabouts at an all-time high, more and more roundabout analyses are being conducted. A few states within the U.S. now require that roundabouts be considered as an alternative along an arterial and/or interchange improvement project. Recently, with the release of the 2010 Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), a new roundabout operational analysis method became available to traffic engineers. Although a macroscopic level analysis is often sufficient, a more detailed microscopic analysis may be required to account for key issues not accounted for in the macroscopic analysis. Synchro Studio provides traffic engineers with the necessary operational tools to conduct most roundabout analyses. Synchro, SimTraffic, and 3D Viewer allow the traffic engineer to easily switch to other intersection configurations to assist the user in selecting the most appropriate solution. SimTraffic allows users to create a realistic traffic simulation model without having to spend days developing the model. 3D Viewer allows users to add 3D objects to create agency or public quality presentation videos.
