In-Transit Water Additions to Concrete
ASTM C94/C94M, “Standard Specification for Ready-Mixed Concrete,” has recently been revised to allow water additions to mixing trucks as they travel from the batching plant to the job site. These changes were facilitated by new technology that allows automated evaluation of slump and automated control of water additions. Concrete producers, engineers, and contractors can expect reduced variability and increased productivity.
