STATIC FREQUENCY CONVERTERS FOR SHAFT GENERATOR SYSTEMS
Reviews the development of shaft generators for the ac power supply onboard ships. Design alternatives are examined from the standpoint of operation onboard ship, and a description is given of the various possibilities and limitations. Finally, reference is made to advantageous functional integration with the extensive automatic control systems employed on modern merchant vessels.
