OVERTOPPING OF SLOPE BREAKWATERS
Results of laboratory tests to determine the conditions of overtopping of rubble-mound breakwaters are presented. The tests were conducted to investigate the influence of the crest width on the beginning of overtopping, defined as the situation in which the water resulting from the incoming wave washes the crest, reaching, in the limit, the crest's inner edge. Porous, rough quarry-stone breakwater sections were tested in a wave flume. The paper concerns breakwaters without curtain-wall.
