MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLE NOISE
This paper describes the measurement of the noise levels of diesel engine commercial vehicles under practical test conditions, the analysis of these results and the application of simple noise reduction treatments. Noise levels are recorded using a precision sound level meter set to fast response. Units specified are 'A' weighted decibels, termed dBA, which are now almost universally accepted for vehicle external noise measurement.
