Cargo Traffic of Zagreb Airport and Business Model
Kargo promet Zracne luke Zagreb i model poslovanja
Zagreb Airport (ZA) accounts for over 85% of total air Cargo traffic volume in Croatia. International Cargo traffic dominates at ZA, but at the same time ZA is not the regional Cargo hub. Air Cargo traffic is a true reflection of the global economic situation, especially trade. Since the second half of 2008, all regions have marked a decrease of air Cargo traffic, but the regrowth started in 2010, whereas the fall in Croatia was stopped in 2011. For better positioning on the South-eastern European market, Cargo operation at ZA has to be developed in three strategic directions: 1) technology development; 2) infrastructure development, and 3) scheduled traffic network development. The basic precondition of development and operating of the new business model is the competence of the management system.
