Real-time road alerts lower crash rates 80%
Colorado's Department of Transportation (CDOT) uses non-intrusive pavement temperature and condition sensors in order to activate variable message signs based on icy or wet road conditions. The fact that it's automated makes it quicker to activate and reduces the chances for human error.
