ITS for Long Distance Bus Passenger Transport

The paper will present a multi-operator platform implemented to manage booking, payment and fleet monitoring of a network of long-distance passenger transport. The platform is used by more than 2500 travel agencies that provide booking and payment services. Users and operators are able to monitor the position of buses in real time. The management of such a network can increase the offer of multimodal solutions especially if the platform is linked to traveler information services and integrated to terminal management systems. Some ICT solutions that would enhance the long distance passenger road transport will be presented.
