Heuristic Algorithm for Integrated Allocation and Transportation in Three-Stage Supply Network
This paper concerns heuristic algorithm solving joint problem of allocation and transportation in three-stage supply network consisting of suppliers of a raw material, production units processing it into product, and product receivers. The algorithm presented is compared with commercial solver for a case when the joint problem of allocation and transportation is a convex optimization one, and with evolutionary algorithm for a case when the problem is not convex. The problem considered and the algorithm can be applied in the agri-food industry, especially in sugar beets processing into sugar.
