LED: Beyond the hype
Using light-emitting diode (LED) technology can virtually eliminate routine maintenance, save energy over traditional streetlights, enhance nighttime visibility, and offer environmental advantages (the diodes don't contain mercury). In order to maximize performance and savings, this article presents ways to ensure the best return on investment, such as setting sustainable performance goals, specifying the system, considering target efficacy, and understanding lumen depreciation. Finally, gain knowledge from shared experience by talking to other communities that have success stories in this area.
