OBSERVATIONS ON THE EFFECT OF VESSEL SPEED ON BOW THRUSTER PERFORMANCE
The paper explores the effect of vessel speed on thruster performance by comparing full-scale data to model test data. The steering effect of the thruster alone, and in combination with the rudder, is considered. A limited amount of full-scale data on the steering effect of a bow thruster, with the vessel proceeding astern, is presented.
