SAN FRANCISCO BCDC REVISTED
In May 1969, CIVIL ENGINEERING featured a report on the three-year study of San Francisco Bay and the conflicting procedures for the development of its shoreline. The article "San Francisco Bay Shoreline: Balancing of Development and Conservation Proposed," by the author traced the activities of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) which was created by the California Legislature in 1965. The current article follows BCDC's activities since it was designated a permanent agency in 1969, and its enforcement of Bay Plan Policies.
