ROAD AND RAIL CRANES FOR MORE RAPID BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
SCHNELLER BRUECKENWECHSEL MIT SCHIENEN- UND STRASSENKRANEN
A railway bridge on the Stehrung--Stockach section was constructed within the prescribed limit of 48 hours. The lifting was accomplished with the aid of two road and two rail-mounted cranes, and the rail traffic was able to be resumed only four hours after the work had been completed. The entire operation, which is illustrated by several pictures, and also the preparations for the erection work, are discussed in the article.
