IMPORTANT POINTS IN THE DESIGN, SELECTION AND EVALUATION OF CENTRIFUGAL SLURRY PUMPS
Many slurries are abrasive and cause wear to the parts of the pump with which the liquid comes into contact and, apart from the material selection, the hydraulic pump design is important to limit the unavoidable wear to a minimum and so increase the life of the pump. Another factor to lower the operational cost of a slurry transportation system, is the pump efficiency. Because of its relatively small influence in the past, this factor was often neglected, but with the increasing quantities to be conveyed, the influence of the power consumption cannot be overlooked.
