ULTRASONIC TECHNIQUES FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF TANGENTIAL ELASTIC MODULUS OF PROPELLER SHAFTS
The elastic modulus G on propeller shaft may be found by velocity measurement of ultrasonic transverse waves. This paper reports the finding of laboratory studies carried out with cylinders of various materials and reports the findings of workshop tests on solid and hollow shafts.
