Fundamental tests on a rapid prototype bogie
This paper describes the development of a rapid prototype bogie. This bogie can be used to conduct performance tests of new bogie designs without having to manufacture vital test components. The prototype bogie was used for actuator control performance tests with oil damper test equipment and for emulated running tests on the rolling stock test plant. The results indicate that the bogie displayed the fundamental properties required for rapid prototyping. Future research is planned to improve the rapid prototype bogie.
