VALDEZ IS PLANNED TERMINAL
When the trans Alaska pipeline finally becomes a reality, a flow of up to two million barrels of oil per day will be delivered to the Port of Valdez, Alaska, from where the oil will be shipped by tankers to United States west coast ports. A complete description of this port is presented, with emphasis given to safety precautions and pollution control and prevention systems that will be incorporated in the construction of the port. Every precaution will be taken when building, with disasters such as ship collisions and earthquakers taken into consideration. Should an oil spill occur, the action that would be taken is described, from the removal of the oil from the water to the treatment of the contaminated water itself.
