SINGLE BUOY MOORING SYSTEM EXPEDITES IRON ORE EXPORTS
A description of a single buoy mooring system is presented. The buoy described is used for the transfer of iron ore, but it is readily adaptable for the transfer of bulk oil cargoes. The factors that determine the design and size of a particular system are presented, and the buoy itself is described, with features such as buoy construction, anchoring arrangement and ground tackle included in the description.
