CONTROLLED DEPTH SUBMERGED BARGE FOR ARCTIC TRANSPORT IS FEASIBLE AND ECONOMICAL
This is primarily a description of CONOCO's efforts to develop a system for hauling two million barrels per day of crude oil from the North Slope of Alaska to the East Coast of the U.S. A brief coverage of the following aspects is provided: Environment and routing, icebreaker and barge design, control systems, simulation models, economics and the necessary development program.
