AIR SURVEY METHODS FOR WATER MONITORING

Airborne remote sensing methods are being used increasingly for water pollution detection and monitoring. The advantage of aerial survey is the ability to scan large areas effectively without regard to terrain or manmade obstructions. The various sensing systems include photography, radar, and linescan systems. These methods are explained in detail with regard to methods of detection, operation, instrumentation, data recording and feasibility. Several other aerial survey instruments of limited usefulness are explained as to their operation and application.
