Recent Advances in Activity and Travel Pattern Modelling

This annual special issue of "Transportation: Planning, Policy, Research, Practice" comprises selected papers presented at the Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in January 2012. The theme of this special issue is "Recent Advances in Activity and Travel Pattern Modeling." Seven papers are included in this issue. The first two papers seek to improve existing activity-based model systems. The third paper describes the development of a new need-based model system. The last four papers all seek to improve realism in modeling travel behavior. The papers in this issue also highlight the subject of endogeneity in travel behavior and collectively demonstrate survey techniques that can be used in practice.
