An analysis of route factors for one way and two way street systems
The route factor is an important parameter in transport planning and operation. In urban road planning it becomes an important 'system' parameter of the two dimensional pattern of streets and highways, and is of special usefulness in traffic assignment and other problems of traffic pattern analysis. In this paper, route factors for both rectangular grid street patterns and radial ring road network are analysed. A comparison is made also of route factors for one way and two way operations on a grid of city streets (A).
