Traffic noise and planning
Traffic noise has become a major environmental problem in other cities and there is evidence of an emerging problem in areas of Canberra. On the premise that prevention is better than cure, the ncdc studied methods of reducing the impact of traffic noise, generated on arterial roads, to acceptable levels in adjoining areas. The results are being applied in the planning of the new town of tuggeranong.
