Intralaboratory repeatability and reproducibility for Department of Main Roads, New South Wales, selected soil testing procedures
Quality control of soils relies on the applicability of the parameters being tested and on the repeatability and reproducibility of the tests used to measure these parameters. The Department of Main Roads, NSW operated as at 1 August 1975, 27 laboratories staffed by a total of 107 testing laboratory operators routinely involved in control testing of soils for road construction projects. With such a large testing staff, it is imperative that the repeatability and reproducibility of test results be ascertained and further that any deficiencies are detected and remedial action taken. Two studies and a follow up study are described.
