The information system in north carolina
This paper describes some characteristics of the north caroline accident record system, and attempts by the university of north carolina highway safety research center (hsrc) to use these data for research purposes. The north carolina system is by no means a model, since it has many shortcomings, but it does have certain ingredients that permit use of the data in research projects, rather just periodic statistical summaries.
