FIVE EXAMPLES OF THE USE OF STRAIN GAUGES IN UNUSUAL ENVIRONMENTS
Field investigations of strains are becoming more rewarding as a result of the development of extremely short based gauges for measuring localized strains. A number of examples of this type of investigation are presented, with details on types and positioning of gauges, as well as diagrams showing the locations and results achieved.
