Land transport reform and the Northern Territory

Noting that the 1990 Inter-State Commission (ISC) recommendations constitute an important contribution to the debate and processes of land transport reform in Australia, this paper discusses how some of those recommendations may impact on residents of rural and remote Australia. The paper concludes that any adverse impact is likely to be small but that more detailed data and additional analysis are required to be more definitive (A).
