Engineering safe behaviour
In this paper we wish to emphasise that engineering (including design, construction and maintenance) has a very important part to play in encouraging the right behaviour. Facilities must be sympathetic to the fundamentals of bicycle use and the needs of cyclists if legal and safe behaviour is to result.
