AUTOMATIC CAR IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM USING ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION COUPLING
Equipment for automatically identifying railway cars is described. A passive response device consisting of a medium-wave ceramic resonator, a capacitor, and a loop antenna is attached to the car. Five resonators of different frequencies express a decimal number in a 2 out-of 5 code. The reading device contains a sweep oscillator for generating the interrogating signal.
