INITIAL WAVE FRONT EMITTED BY A SUDDENLY EXTENDING CRACK IN AN ELASTIC SOLID
It is the purpose here to determine the pressure discontinuity radiated out from a crack tip when the crack, which is initially at rest, begins to extend. A half-plane crack in an unbounded body of homogeneous, isotropic elastic materials is considered.
