EFFECT OF COUPLE-STRESSES ON THE DYNAMIC STRESS CONCENTRATION AROUND A CRACK
The dynamic problem is presented for an infinite elastic Cosserat medium weakened by a finite crack where the self-equilibrated system of pressure is varying harmonically in time. There are two sets of mixed boundary values and the problem is reduced to four simultaneous integral equations which are solved by the series method. The numerical examples are carried out to clarify the effect of couple-stress on the dynamic stress concentration around a crack.
