OPTIMUM HYDROFOIL SYSTEM. THERE ISN'T ONE
The choice of hydrofoil system design is dependent on too many variables for there to be an optimum foil suitable for all applications. Operation in calm water or rough water, configuration and hull form and the hydrodynamics of fully-submerged vs. surface-piercing foils are all factors that preclude development of a single all-purpose foil.
