DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF TRAFFIC WITH A NON-LINEAR SPACING- SPEED RELATIONSHIP
TRAFFIC FLOW, IN WHICH THE CAR SPACING IS EXPRESSED BY A QUADRATIC RELATION OF SPEEDS WAS DISCUSSED. THE EFFECT OF NONLINEARITY WAS INVESTIGATED UPON THE STEADY MOTION OF THE FOLLOWING VEHICLE, UPON THE VARIATION OF CAR SPACING AND ON THE VARIATION OF THE AVERAGE SPACING AFTER THE LEAD CAR HAS SUFFERED A DISTURBANCE.
