SOIL EROSION IN ROADS
A NUMBER OF MECHANICAL, PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES THAT CAN INFLUENCE THE RESISTANCE OF A SOIL TO ATMOSPHERIC EROSION ARE BEING INVESTIGATED ON A SET OF 26 SOILS. SOILS CAN BE CLASSIFIED BY MEANS OF ONLY TWO PARAMETERS. THEREFORE, A TENTATIVE SELECTION CRITERION BASED ON SWELLING AND THE GRAIN SIZE DISTRIBUTION CURVE (USING THE A-CONSTANT) WITH THE CORRESPONDING LIMIT VALUE BEING INDICATED IS SUGGESTED. /RRL/LNEC/
