AAR NETWORK MODEL IS ALMOST DONE
The specific objective of the AAR Network Project is to produce a model that will permit studies of strategies of classification or blocking, changes in schedule, major changes in facilities, and train operating policies. The model is being programmed in SIMSCRIPT and will be operational on three different computers--the CDC 6400, UNIVAC 1108, and the IBM 360/65. Running time on a CDC 6400 will not exceed one hour of machine time to a week of real time for a network of 100 nodes, 100 trains a day, and 5000 cuts of cars.
