A STUDY OF THE PEDOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION OF SOILS IN RELATION TO SOIL-CEMENT STABILIZATION
RESULTS OF THE STUDY SHOW THAT THE PRINCIPAL CHEMICAL FACTORS WHICH CAN BE USED TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT A SOIL WILL BE CHEMICALLY SUITABLE FOR CEMENT STABILIZATION ARE THE SOIL PH AND THE ORGANIC MATTER CONTENT. IF THESE TWO VALUES AND THE MAJOR SOIL GROUP TO WHICH THE SOIL BELONGS ARE KNOWN, IT IS POSSIBLE TO PREDICT WITH A FAIR MEASURE OF CERTAINTY WHETHER OR NOT THE SOIL CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY STABILIZED WITH 10% PORTLAND CEMENT.
