TEREBEL DYNAMIC POSITIONING SYSTEM. RESULTS OF SIX YEARS OF FIELD WORK AND EXPERIMENTS

The paper describes the main dynamic positioning system used on the Terebel and the alternative equipment, concepts, and hardware tried. The results of six years of operation are stated and discussed. They include the efficiency of the various systems, their freedom from trouble, the position and heading accuracies, the power requirements and the economics of dynamic positioning.
