CALCULATION OF CROSS-ROADS: THE HERMES PROGRAM /IN FRENCH/
THE HERMES PROGRAM HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FROM THE METHOD DESCRIBED IN "CALCULATION METHOD FOR SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS", (SETRA, MARCH 1970). THE BASIC PRINCIPLES ARE IDENTICAL. THIS PROGRAM FACILITATES THE SOLUTION OF ALL THE PROBLEMS OF SIGNALIZED CROSS ROADS: SELECTION OF CYCLE TIME AND DISTRIBUTION, INTRODUCTION OF SPECIAL PHASES FOR LEFT-TURN OR RIGHT-TURN TRAFFIC (GREEN FILTERS), STUDY OF PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS, ESTABLISHMENT OF SPECIAL LANES, CALCULATION OF WAITING TIME, AND DELAYS. A NEW VERSION OF THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN PUBLISHED AT THE SETRA IN MARCH 1971 UNDER THE NAME "HERMES II PROGRAM"; THIS NEW VERSION CONTAINS A NUMBER OF IMPROVEMENTS.
