DATA AND MODELS IN HOMOGENEOUS ONE-WAY TRAFFIC FLOW
KNOWN DATA, STATISTICAL RESULTS AND MODELS FOR ONE-WAY HOMOGENEOUS MULTI-LANE TRAFFIC FLOW, ARE PRESENTED TOGETHER WITH SUGGESTIONS FOR FORMULATION OF TYPES OF MODELS. THE MOST GLARING DEFICIENCY IN THE PRESENT STATE OF THE ART IS AN ADEQUATE DATA BASE AND SOME REASONABLE STATISTICAL PROCEDURES. THE AVAILABLE MODELS ARE EITHER OVERSIMPLIFIED OR VARY AD HOC, AND DO NOT OFFER MUCH HOPE FOR USEFUL APPLICATIONS. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT AN EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE DIGITAL MODEL FOR THE COMPUTER MAY OFFER SOME VALUABLE INSIGHTS. /AUTHOR/
